I let it steep for 30+ minutes and then downed two glasses of warmish tea... I wasn't drinking it to have a movement. I've been sick for about two hours. Awful cramps -- body is emptying everything.

Re: Senna Tea is Evil!

hilarious!

Re: A food addict’s quandary

Those sound like pretty manageable goals. I would also add not eating after a certain time (like 8pm or 9pm). Sometimes I find myself wanting "something" late at night. I have a choice to suck down a couple of hundred calories that I don't need or drink some water and go to sleep. Obviously going to sleep is the better option - lol

p.s. You're an awesome cook

M. I'm still weighing that option (no pun intended). My best to you and your wife on your fasting goals.

Re: The Reboot: Taking on the challenge of juice fasting

I just saw the movie yesterday and got inspired as well. I went Veg on 1-1-11 and have been slowly losing weight and feeling a lot better. However, I still need to lose a lot of weight, similar to Joe. I am getting a juicer this week and will start my fast this weekend. My wife is joining me and has commited to 14 days, while I am setting a goal for 60. I am looking forward to the benefits. Good luck to you all as well.

Re: The Reboot: Taking on the challenge of juice fasting

The protein powder is my idea. I don't use it often, though. There's something about the texture of it, when mixed in juice, that doesn't taste the greatest. I was just trying to keep my protein intake up because I like to lift weights. However, I am looking for some viable natural alternatives to protein powder.

Re: The Reboot: Taking on the challenge of juice fasting

I watched that movie too and felt inspired. I am on day 4 of my fast. So far things are going well. Yesterday I was not hungry at all. I hope that will be true for today also. Day 2 sucked. Talk about grumpy. I could not stand to be in the room with myself. I've lost 6lbs so far, but I'm sure most of that is water. I have a question. I see you are adding protein powder. I do not remember seeing Joe do that. Was that in the movie or something your doctor recommended?
